SCELv2 runway, approach and taxiway centreline lights very dim.

Post by kevinh » Fri Jul 30, 2021 2:23 am

I have recently installed SCEL for P3Dv4. The version I have is v2.2 (I opened a separate thread about obtaining the latest v2.3 installer). The runway lights (edge, centreline, end and touchdown lights), approach lights and taxiway centreline lights are extremely dim and cannot be seen on approach at all. Taxiway edge lights, and PAPIs are normal brightness. Airport buildings, etc appear correctly lit. Screenshots attached.

I have reinstalled P3Dv4.5 client, content and scenery from the latest full installer (previously I had v4.5 plus hotfixes installed) but this made no difference. I don't use third party shaders. Selecting PBR materials or standard in the configurator makes no difference to the lighting brightness.

I installed v2.3 but the lighting is still the same. Looking at the BGL files none of the lights were updated in July 2019.

I have the P3Dv5 installer for v2.3, can I try that to see if the lighting improves? what might not work correctly with this scenery in v4?

no, don't try that. Lets continue via email, since we are talking there.
