LVFR releases Global Vehicle Traffic for MSFS

Post by RicardoLVFR » Mon Feb 21, 2022 5:48 pm

This addon replaces the stock/default road vehicle traffic with more detailed and more realistic vehicles that are more frequently seen in the different regions of the world.

Replacement of road vehicle traffic with different sets for diverse parts of the world, for North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa.
Vehicles that resemble real world type of traffic
Compact cars, vans, buses, Trucks.
Different logos for many of the trucks with real world companies.
More realistic vehicles than the stock/default with no impact on performance.
The country of New Zealand couldn’t be modified.

We want to clarify somethings in regards to this package:

1- We received the feedback, stating that there are too many trucks. We will certainly make a note of this for the first update, we are gonna add more regular sized vehicles to compensate for the amount of trucks. Reason we did so many trucks is that form 1500 feet and higher, or even lower its quite difficult to see a compact or 'normal sized car'. Trucks are more noticeable therefore you get more immersion from that height or above. Nonetheless we hear you, and will make the trucks more variable and add more cars so that not many are present currently.

2- We did not want to make too many variations in models because we did not want to alter the performance, nonetheless no performance impact has been noticed thus far, and we will carefully increase the amount of variations, taking into account performance and that no impact is felt.

Thanks so much for the support!

We just released update 1.01 of Global Vehicle Traffic. Open the contrail app and allow for the update to run.

Important notes:

1-Increased diversity in all regions. In Europe increased the amount of compact vehicles, reducing the amount of trucks or lorries. In the other regions added more regular vehicles and thus reducing the amount of trucks.

2-We removed some vehicles from Europe that weren't normal there. Among other small fixes.

We heard the feedback and we took note of it. Most importantly the feedback of diversity of vehicles and the reduction of trucks which was the most common was addressed but there is a reason we did not do much diversity

a) Performance might degrade if we increased the amount of vehicles. The vehicles in GVT are higher resolution/detail models than the default, therefore we needed to proceed with caution. The more variations the more textures also and polygons that would be drawn and put into the the sim. We could have gone and added hundreds or maybe thousands of variations but performance was going to be severely degraded. What we just did would allow for more variations and at the same time keep the same performance levels as we had in the version 1.00

b) The issue with trucks and lorries. Reason we did more trucks was because at 500, 1,000 feet or above, you will notice more the larger vehicles, in this case trucks, which are more noticeable and helps with the immersion.

c) Doing vehicles for certain countries. This would degrade performance because it would increase the texture amount, we decided to go by continent to reduce the performance impact overall. Also the way the FS world is divided as we did in AREX, not many regions are only countries. The French are fortunate enough to have this and South Africa too, but other than that, that' about it.
