A318 AP Interface

I just purchased the A318CEO from LVFR on the Xbox marketplace, and I cannot get the AP to switch to directed mode for heading, altitude, speed, etc. . I am on X-Box Series X using a mouse. I can center click the knob to get OUT of directed mode, but can't re-engage.
I have seen comments on forums on this topic that discuss changing "Cockpit Interactions" to "Legacy", but I have an X Box purchased in May 2023, and MSFS 40th anniversary purchased in May 2023, and there is no "Cockpit Interaction" under Genral Options, Accessibility. Believe me, I've looked everywhere.

I also just purchased the A320 from the Xbox Marketplace, and that fleet exhibit the same problem. At this time these planes are bricks with wheels.

Unfortunately these planes are best interacted with an Xbox controller.
